Pseudonymous Bosch Presents Bad Magic

For the last several years, mysterious author Pseudonymous Bosch has kept young readers enthralled and entertained with his best-selling Secret Series of books. Now, with a little "abracadabra" and "hocus pocus," he's conjured up The Bad Series, which kicks off with the first book Bad Magic. Join us as Pseudonymous visits the Santa Monica Public Library to introduce the new book to avid kid readers and their families on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Main Library's Martin Luther King, Jr. Auditorium, 601 Santa Monica Blvd.

Bad Magic is the story of skeptical kid Clay, who does not believe in magic, especially after his magician brother, Max Ernest, leaves home without saying goodbye. But then a magic journal gets Clay expelled from school and lands him at Earth Ranch, a summer camp for wayward youths on an island where nothing is as it seems. As Clay races to uncover the strange history of the island and his even stranger fellow campers, he finally realizes that magic might not be all that bad.

Pseudonymous Bosch is the elusive author of the best-selling Secret Series of kid's mystery novels, which began with The Name of This Book Is Secret. A little known secret about the Secret Series is that Pseudonymous Bosch wrote the first draft of the first book at the Santa Monica Public Library – though we have no idea what corners he was hiding in when he did so.
