A Street Rat Becomes a Prince: Aladdin

Santa Monica College Theatre Arts Department presents Disney's "Aladdin Jr. " July 15-24

Welcome to Agrabah! The Santa Monica College Theatre Arts Department presents Disney's "Aladdin Jr. " July 15-24 at the Theatre Arts Studio Stage on the SMC main campus, 1900 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica.

Audiences of all ages will enjoy this entertaining Academy Award-winning adventure of the street rat who became a prince. The performance – based on the Disney animated film – is sure to send you soaring on a flying carpet ride filled with wild adventure and colorful romance!

Based on the screenplay by Ron Clements and John Musker, Tedd Elliott, and Terry Rossio – the production features music by Alan Menken, with lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice. The book was adapted and additional lyrics written by Jim Luigs, with music adapted and arranged by Bryan Louiselle. Presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI; see www. MTIShows.com), with all authorized performance materials also supplied by MTI. The SMC production is directed by Dr. Adrianne Harrop, with music direction by Gary Gray.

Show times are 7 p.m. on Friday, July 15 and July 22, and on Saturday, July 16 and July 23. Matinees are at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 16 and July 23, and on Sunday, July 17 and July 24. Late arrivals seated at management discretion. No video feed offered in lobby area.

General Admission advance tickets are $10 plus a service charge and can be purchased by going to http://www.smc.edu/studiostage or by calling (310) 434-4319 Monday through Friday. Children's tickets are $5 for ages 3-12 (free for children under 3, on lap) and may ONLY be purchased by calling (310) 434-4319 Monday through Friday; through the theater drop box on the main SMC campus; by mailing a check or money order to Santa Monica College Theatre Arts, 1900 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica, CA 90405; or at the door. All tickets – for adults and children – are $3 higher at the door. Parking is free on Friday evenings and weekends.
