Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Deny that Marion Cotillard Caused Their Breakup.

Jolie has hired top gun Laura Wasser as her lawyer, it is clear she means business but she is not seeking spousal support

Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from husband Brad Pitt, citing irreconcilable differences. According to the court documents, the pair separated on September 15, two years and one month after they married in August 2014.

Jolie is seeking physical custody of their six children and asking the court to grant Pitt visitation. She is also asking to keep "miscellaneous jewelry and other personal effects" as well as any earnings from after the date of their separation and other separate assets to be determined later. Jolie has hired top gun Laura Wasser as her lawyer, it is clear she means business, she is not seeking spousal support.

A source close to them asserted that both sides want a cordial breakup.

"Other than the fame of the people involved, this is like so many other divorces," the source said.

"I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well being of our kids," Pitt said Tuesday in a statement to CNN. "I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time."

Jolie's camp issued the following statement.

"Angelina will always do what's in the best interest to protect her children," Geyer Kosinski, Jolie's manager, told E! News in a statement Tuesday. "She appreciates every one's understanding of their need for privacy at this time." Pitt added in a statement to People magazine, "I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids. Jolie's manager, Geyer Kosinski, said Tuesday, "Angelina will always do what's in the best interest to protect her children.

Page Six have a totally different spin on the story and have a close source who blames Brad's partying on cheating on the couple's split. According to Page Six, suspecting her husband was playing away in London, Jolie hired a private detective who allegedly gave her the bad news she suspected. Pitt, 52, had been rumored to have been cozying up to his "Allied'' co-star Marion Cotillard, 40, for months during the pair's filming of the World War II drama in London. Pitt is also rumored to have been partying like Benjamin Button and living the single life apparently forgetting about his stunning wife and their six children.

A source close to Cotillard denied the Pitt affair rumors and insisted she is still with her long-term partner, French actor and director Guillaume Cane.

Another source told TMZ that Jolie believes that her hubby's drinking and pot-smoking is affecting their kids. Add to that his "anger problem," and the mom of six said enough is enough, the source told the website.

Jolie is apparently focused on her humanitarian efforts whilst Pitt still enjoys the Hollywood lifestyle. For the sake of their kids let's hope they keep their divorce more kid friendly than tabloid friendly.

I'm so glad it was Marion Cotillard. At least she is a real person. At best she is sincere and naturally classy.
