Tiffany Trump is the Jan Brady of the Trump Clan; Destined to be Overlooked

The striking blonde has not been seen publicly since she spoke at the Republican National Convention

You may have wondered why you haven't heard much about Tiffany Trump, the only child of Donald Trump with actress Marla Maples. Well, as always, there's an internet meme that explains it. It went all over Twitter early this year:

Trump: I need Secret Service protection for Ivanka, Don Jr and Eric

Eric: What about Tiffany?

Trump: Who?

Poor Tiffany Trump. "But I DO have a meeting with a Congressman! His name...is George! George Glass!" above a photo of Jan Brady crying.- Mike Scollins (@mikescollins) September 22, 2016

Other twitter posters have asked whether Tiffany Trump is back in the attic.

In contrast, Tiffany's half-siblings have been more prominent figures on the campaign trail. She's done a few interviews here and there but reports indicate that even as a child, she only spent about two weeks or so with her father a year. Is the pretty blonde the Jan Brady of the Republican clan, destined to be forgotten and passed over?

She's probably too noticeable to be completely passed over, and that of course is part of the joke. Tiffany Trump has star quality, rather like her parents. In 2014, while attending the University of Pennsylvania, she released a single "Like a Bird", and later said in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that she was evaluating whether to take her music career "to the next level as a professional". Trump has also worked as an intern at Vogue and modeled for a 2016 Andrew Warren fashion show during New York Fashion Week.

Breaking: Did Tiffany Trump leak her dads 1995 Tax returns, to the New York Times? http://www.smobserved.com/story/2016/10/02/news/tiffany-trump-leaked-dads-1995-tax-returns-to-the-new-york-times/2052.html

Tiffany says she is registered to vote in Pennsylvania as a member of the Republican Party. During the 2016 presidential election, she joined her father and other members of the Trump family at campaign appearances. She spoke at the 2016 Republican National Convention on the second night of the Convention; but this has been her only real appearance during the campaign.

She has been romantically linked to Ross Mechanic, whom she met while they were both students at Penn. Ross' father, Jonathan Mechanic, is the chairman of Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson's real estate department.

A new profile of her mother, Marla Maples, appeared in the Daily Beast and explained how well Tiffany gets along with her dad. She doesn't know him hardly at all. The profile explained that Maples moved her daughter to California when she and Donald Trump divorced to shield the child from New York's gossipy culture. Now that she is 22 and has graduated from college, Maples said she is working on her relationship with her father.

"My daughter is back here wanting to get to know her dad and spend more time with him, and I have to really respect that and I do respect that in every way. I was fortunate enough to raise her in California really on my own," she said.

Maples did share that her daughter, unlike the children of Ivana Trump and Melania Trump, does not have security. This adds to "Tiffany's concern that she comes off as the Jan Brady of the Trump family, the daughter Trump hardly knew until recently."

Tiffany Ariana Trump, 22 is the only daughter of Donald Trump with his second wife, Marla Maples. She was named by her parents after Tiffany & Company; her father's purchase of the air rights above the store in the 1980s allowed him to build Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue. She was raised by her mother in California, where she lived until graduating from high school. She was educated at Viewpoint School in Calabasas and went on to graduate from the University of Pennsylvania, where she double-majored in sociology and urban studies, in 2016.

Tiffany is a frequent poster to Instagram where, as of 2016, she had more than 200,000 followers. Her posts on Instagram are often taken with friends and fellow heirs and heiresses including Kyra Kennedy, daughter of Robert F. Kennedy Jr .; Gaïa Matisse, great-great-granddaughter of artist Henri Matisse; and EJ Johnson, son of Magic Johnson. The group, whose posed photos are edited by Andrew Warren, has been referred to collectively as the "rich kids of Instagram" by the New York Post and the "Snap Pack" by The New York Times and New York magazine.

Her speech at the RNC gave one the impression that she knew her father well, so I am wondering if the media is lying about their relationship. Trump appears to favor Ivanka, and I think favortism towards one's children is a form of very harmful control, and abusive especially when it's blatant. Smart parents would never do that. Instead, they would appreciate all their children's attrubutes, and treat them all with favor, and dignity. I also don't like his three older kids playing the part of his wife, and quit upstaging Melania. Few people like the Trump kids. They have no charisma. I wish they knew it, and would go away already.
