Suspect Who Slugged a Woman on Camera Last Week, Turns Himself In to LA Police.

Michael Fino, who punched woman on video, has been charged with Assault and Battery.

LA Resident Michael Fino, 44, has turned himself in to police for punching a woman and tossing other bystanders. He has been charged criminally with battery.

The event occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, near the intersection of Pacific Street and Windward Avenue. This is a very busy intersection one block from the beach and Venice boardwalk, where the old "VENICE" sign is visible. The original buildings built in Venice are on that intersection.

Surveillance video captured the suspect punching a woman in her face, both of them white.

A preliminary investigation revealed Fino was speaking to a homeless man when the woman intervened, telling Fino to leave him alone, police said. Fino and woman later ran into each other at the store, which led to the angry altercation.

The assault stemmed from an earlier argument between the two strangers, said Sgt. Gregory Probst with the Los Angeles Police Department's Pacific Division.

The man was haranguing a homeless man when the woman intervened, telling him to leave the him alone, Probst said. The two later ran into each other in a store, and the assault occurred outside of the store.

Fino not only slugged the woman, who is seen sitting on the sidewalk rubbing her jaw; he also throws a man who tries to detain him over his shoulder.

p.s. My mother always taught me not to hit girls. "They're smaller than you are," she said. Just saying.

Does anybody know if Michael Joseph Fino ever served time in prison for this battery assault? He was supposed to be sentenced that following Nov 2016. Hopefully the woman was OK and didn't suffer a concussion. On top of harassing a homeless man, he then punches a woman with a closed fist. This man sounds like very low-class gutter trash.

Your mother was sexist, and her rationale is why some women get hit when they think they're entitled to hit men. Too bad your mother didn't teach you that -ladies- don't batter men. Despite her noble act of defending the homeless person earlier, this woman instigated their interaction in the grocery store and elevated it by putting her hand on him, but apparently that wasn't enough so she harassed and stalked him as he left the store. Your mom was a silly old gal. PS: This story is a perfect example why you should always be considerate because you never know who you're dealing with.
