11/27: If you're flying out of LAX after Thanksgiving, you'd be well advised to arrive early. There is about a one hour wait just to enter the loop at LAX .

Frustrated passengers exited Uber and Lyft rideshares, trying to illegally walk into the airport and make flights. The crowds begin to build at 1:30 pm. The terminal will probably get busier as the day progresses, and stay busy through Monday.

LAX officials say 2.3 million people are expected to pass through the airport during the Thanksgiving travel period. One million cars are expected to drive through the LAX loop during that same period, beginning Nov. 18 and ending on Monday, November 28, 2016.

The 2.3 million figure is an increase of 8.4 percent over last year's record 2.1 million passengers, according to a news release by Los Angeles World Airports.

Sunday and Monday alone, between 215,000 and 232,000 passengers are expected to pass through LAX, airport officials said.
