15 Year Old Girl Rescued from Pimp, Sentenced to 12 Years in State Prison

He hit her after he accused her of not performing up to his standards and earning enough money

On January 4, 2017, Defendant Marcus Deshon Slaughter, MB/29, of Compton, pled guilty in Compton Superior Court to one count of felony pimping and sentenced to serve twelve years in state prison.

The case began on April 22, 2016, when Century Station Deputies responded to a call for service regarding a fight at a local motel on Long Beach Boulevard, Lynwood.

At the motel, Deputies met an 18 year old female who said she had been working for a pimp, Defendant Slaughter, as a commercial sex worker, since January of 2016. Slaughter physically assaulted her after he accused her of not performing up to his standards and earning enough money.

Human Trafficking Detectives were called to the scene and the victim was referred to the Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking (C.A.S.T.) for victim services. C.A.S.T. is partnered with the LASD in the LA Regional Human Trafficking Task Force. Since the suspect had fled the scene prior to the arrival of deputies, the investigation continued.

On August 15, 2016, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) received an anonymous call about a 15 year old girl being trafficked by Slaughter.

Human Trafficking Bureau detectives immediately responded to Century Station with HSI agents and began the process of tracking the location of the victim. With the help of Los Angeles Police Department's 77th Division Vice Squad, Suspect Slaughter was detained with the 15 year old commercial, sexually exploited child.

The child was rescued and transferred to the custody of the Department of Children and Family Services. Marcus Deshon Slaughter was arrested and charged with Pandering, Pimping, and Human Trafficking. Both cases were closed upon his conviction.
