Suspect in Las Vegas Bus Barricade Has Surrendered to Police

After a six hour standoff, man who shot another person surrenders peacefully.

A barricade situation on the world famous Las Vegas Blvd, ended peacefully Saturday evening, when a suspect surrendered to officers of the Las Vegas Municipal Police Department.

Another person was also wounded, said police spokesman Officer Larry Hadfield. The shooting took place on the bus, he confirmed.

The shooting suspect was barricaded on a bus, and tactical teams and negotiators were on Las Vegas Boulevard, which is closed between Flamingo Road and Harmon Avenue.

"This incident is being treated as a barricade at this time. There is no credible information that there is a second suspect," Hadfield said earlier Saturday. He also said there was no active shooter situation at any time, in any casino on the Strip.

The Cosmopolitan Hotel, near where the bus was parked, said its staff was cooperating with police but that it had no other details about the shooting

At 2 pm PST, MGM Resorts which owns The Bellagio. issued the following statement: "Pedestrian and automobile traffic are currently being diverted from the Bellagio main entrance due to an active police situation on Las Vegas Boulevard. Metro police are dealing with a situation on a city bus on The Strip. We appreciate your cooperation ..."
