Hit and Run Driver Kills Woman Crossing Wilshire Blvd at Federal Avenue in West LA

LAPD offers $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect

Los Angeles police detectives are searching for a suspect after a hit-and-run in West Los Angeles that left a local woman dead.

It happened at 8:25 p.m. Wednesday, August 30. The suspect was eastbound on Wilshire Blvd as the pedestrian crossed in the marked crosswalk at Federal Avenue.

The driver struck the woman and fled the scene without stopping to help her, police said.

The victim is a woman in her 50s. Police have declined to release her identity pending notification of her next of kin.

LOS ANGELES – LAPD has announced a $50,000 reward in a hit-and- run collision that killed a female adult pedestrian on August 30th. The fatality occurred around 8:25 p.m. on Wilshire Boulevard at Federal Avenue.

The suspect's vehicle traveled eastbound on Wilshire Boulevard as the pedestrian was crossing on the marked crosswalk. The driver's vehicle struck the pedestrian and left the scene without rendering aid or giving identification, as required by law.

The responding Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the scene. The victim is a female in her fifties. Identification will be released upon notification of next of kin.

The Los Angeles Police Department West Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public's help in providing any information that would lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect .

A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender's identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise. On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund.
