Protest Photo Exhibit by Cindy Bendat: "Be The Change"

At the University Art Gallery at California State University Dominguez Hills Starting 9/11

Los Angeles Protest Photographs 2003 -2017 by Cindy Bendat at the University Art Gallery at California State University Dominguez Hills runs from September 11, 2017 through October 10, 2017.

The Opening Reception is on Monday September 11th from 5:30 -7:30 p.m. with an artist talk at 6:00 p.m. There will also be two Saturday morning artist walkthroughs on September 16th at 10:30 a.m. and October 7th at 11:00 a.m.

Speaking truth to power, people join organizations, make demands, march in the streets, sign petitions, canvass door-to-door, create political posters, gather at City Halls, run for office, vote, boycott, ridicule, get arrested, burn flags, and topple governments.

These photographs by California photographer Cindy Bendat celebrate that activism starting with the 2003 protests against the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars and continuing on to showcase photographs from immigrant rights protests, Burma freedom and Arab

Spring rallies, Occupy L.A., the labor movement, Black Lives Matter, and the 2017 Women's March.

There is no better time than now to protest wrongs and to organize for a better tomorrow. Be the change.
