Los Angeles County Sheriff's Locate Missing Woman With Dementia

Sook J. Velasco, 71, found in Lakewood due to public assistance

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Missing Person's Detail investigators have learned that Sook J. Velasco was found. Ms. Velasco had been reported missing Sunday, October 15, 2017 at 11:20 A.M., in the city of Lakewood.

The missing person was found Sunday, October 15, 2017, later in the day, at a local hospital. Her family has been notified and will be reunited with them.

Originally, Detectives asked for the public's assistance in locating Sook J. Velasco, a 71 year-old Asian female who was last seen on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at 11:20 AM, at her home, in Lakewood.

Ms. Velasco who goes by the name "Grace" is described as 5'2", 109 lbs, and has brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing eye glasses, light purple sweater and white pants. She suffers from dementia.

Her family has not seen or heard from her and are seeking the public's help.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department would like to thank everyone involved for their help in location Ms. Velasco.
