Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle at 9th Street & Montana Avenue

After Car vs. Pedestrian Accident, Pedestrian seen lying on the ground.

As a result of a car versus pedestrian accident around 7:25 pm Tuesday evening a pedestrian was on the ground at 9th Street and Montana Avenue in Santa Monica. Paramedics were treating him. Enough paramedics to fill a hospital, in fact. Details are pending.

2017 has been a particularly bad year for pedestrians in Santa Monica. Trains and automobiles, as well as busses, have killed 8 pedestrians and injured over a dozen, by our count in the congested Westside City. This is higher than previous years, in part because this is the first full year that the Expo line train, in service since the Spring of 2016, has contributed to the death toll.

Santa Monica's population is less than 100,000. But on any given day, there are several times that number of people here, on the beach, or at work.
