Bubba Gump: Life is Like a Drunken Fight, Attempted Murder

Man Accused of Attempted Murder After Driving Into Crowd on SM Pier

Santa Monica Police broke up the fight on the pier at 1:18 Sunday morning. Two groups of guys had an “altercation. Neither party was desirous of prosecution, and that both groups went their separate ways," police said in a press release. Presumably meaning neither side wanted to press charges against the other.

However, at 4:30 am one of the men came back to the pier to retrieve his car. Daniel Arroyos, 21, got into another argument with the other group of men. He tried to run over his adversaries. Arroyos ran his car into one man, then drove into Bubba Gump Shrimp company restaurant. The broke up a railing and also damaged a “decorative rowboat,” a term this writer has never put in an article before.

The victim sustained significant bruising to his leg and hip area. He was treated on scene by SMFD Paramedics. Railing and a row boat in front of the restaurant were damaged as well.
