    Amber S. Jackson, Lucky Lifer|Apr 9, 2022

It's hard to believe. This is almost over! My prison stay is almost over. By God's grace. I'll be 38 in a few days. ( Feb. 18th ) It's nothing to celebrate. But my life is about to change! I'll be free very soon. I'll be able to light up a Newport and go to an N.A. meeting in the real world for a change! I'm bracing to the culture shock I'm sure to feel. I'm also preparing for things to not be perfect simply because I'm out of prison. The job market is hot at the moment. I hope to take...

  • Will Social Security Go Bankrupt?

Rusty Gleer, Association of Mature American Citizens|Apr 9, 2022

Ask Rusty – Should I Claim Early Due to Social Security's Financial Condition? Dear Rusty: I plan on retiring at 62, one year from now. I have been coached to (if financially possible) leave my Social Security earnings for my wife to collect in the future if I die, considering that she was a homemaker for the majority of her income earning years. My instinct is to get Social Security coming (I understand I'm settling for a lesser amount at age 62) as soon as possible considering the forecast o...

The deaths of an aspiring actress and her architect friend have been ruled homicides, says the LA County Coroner's office. This result was not too surprising, given that David Pearce has been charged with murder after the two were dumped outside local hospitals. Marcela Cabrales-Arzola also suffered numerous organ failures. The two young wom...

  • News Not Fit to Print?

Jill Chapin, Special to the Observer|Apr 9, 2022

I read an article in the Observer with the headline stating that 80% of covid deaths in a one-week period in Los Angeles County in March were among the vaccinated. Although this was astonishing enough, what caught my attention even more was that the statement was allowed to even see the light of day. I've been searching everywhere and have seen no counterpoint in any media related to questioning the safety and efficacy of the covid vaccine. I wanted to first verify the numbers, needing to...
