    As the drought worsens, the City of Santa Monica is urging its water customers, workers and visitors to step up their water conservation efforts in response to the statewide emergency water conservation regulations adopted by the State Water Resources Control Board. In February, the City enacted its Water Shortage Response Plan asking customers to voluntarily reduce water use by 20% from last year's usage data. Since that time, usage has increased 2%.     Daniel Archulata, Daily Press Editor, Dies Suddenly Daniel Archuleta, the Santa Monica Daily Press Managing Editor, died yesterday morning at his home in El Sereno, according to his family. The 38-year-old had been with the westside newspaper for seven years and was responsible for the publication’s high school sports coverage.
