    Los Angeles police detectives are searching for a suspect after a hit-and-run in West Los Angeles that left a local woman dead. It happened at 8:25 p.m. Wednesday, August 30. The suspect was eastbound on Wilshire Blvd as the pedestrian crossed in the marked crosswalk at Federal Avenue. The driver struck the woman and fled the scene without stopping to help her, police said. The victim is a woman in her 50s.
