Aliso Canyon Gas Leak: Family Festival June 11 for Community Affected

20,000 people relocated, 2 schools closed and dozens of local businesses impacted

LOS ANGELES– More than 5,000 people are expected to gather at the "Family Festival" hosted by Councilmember Mitchell Englander on Saturday June 11 to kick off the summer with a packed lineup of entertainment, free attractions, live performances for kids, and interactive activities for the entire family.

"During the last six months, this community has been devastated by the Aliso Canyon Gas Leak with over 20,000 people relocated, 2 schools closed and dozens of local businesses impacted," said Councilmember Mitchell Englander. "This festival is an opportunity for all affected residents to reconnect with their community and enjoy the quality of life we have here in the beautiful San Fernando Valley."

Festival goers will have the opportunity to spend an afternoon with family and friends while enjoying live music starting at 4:00pm by 70's band Skin Deep followed by 80's rock band Fast Times on the main stage. On the kid's stage, starting at 4:30pm live performances by Reptacular animal show, Faery Hunt and Hoop It Up! Other activities throughout the park include Create Lab arts and crafts pavilion, face painting, balloon artist, giant slides, zipline, rock wall climbing, bungee jumping, obstacle course, and a giant petting zoo.

Additionally, there will be a beer garden for adults and great food. Some of LA's top gourmet food trucks will be at the festival waiting to serve the community, including Grilled Cheese Food Truck, LA Cake, La Panini Grill, The Surfer Taco, Slamin' Sliders, Potato Tornado, and Kona Ice among others.

Porter Ranch

Parking for the festival will be available on Porter Ranch Drive through Tampa Ave and shuttles will be available from the parking lot on the corner of Porter Ranch and Rinaldi.
