Pitcher had had surgery

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers today reinstated right-handed pitcher Frankie Montas (rib resection surgery) from the 60-day disabled list and optioned him to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Montas, 23, posted a 1.50 ERA in six rehab games (three starts) with Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City, striking out 18 with only two walks and a 0.83 WHIP in 12.0 innings. He is in his first season with the Dodger organization after being acquired from the White Sox on Dec. 16, 2015 in a three-team, seven-player trade.
