Gov. Brown Signs Bill Allowing Dead People to Vote, As Long As They're Democrats

Corpses to join felons and illegal aliens as newest California voters

A bill passed by the California State Legislature last week and on Gov. Jerry Brown's desk, will allow the deceased who's registration is Green Party or Democrat, to continue voting after their date of death. Brown says he will sign the legislation Friday, at a ceremony to include "zombies of all racial, ethnic and sexual identities."

California is currently the most solidly "blue" state in the US. Democrats in the State legislature enjoy a super majority, allowing them to pass bills giving transgender folks special rights, and allowing anyone with a pulse to vote. They are now passing bills to keep it that way throughout the 21st Century and beyond.

First Gov. Jerry Brown, who's in his 4th term as governor and who's dad was a two term governor, passed a bill allowing illegal aliens to get drivers licenses. Dems denied that this was intended to grant voting rights to illegal aliens, most of whom would presumably vote for the party that granted them the right to vote.

A bill that Brown announced signing Wednesday allows felons to vote from Jail. It also reinstates the voting eligibility of felons on probation or under community supervision beginning next year. It does not affect those in state or federal prisons. No, I'm not making this up (except for the first line of this story, which is tongue in cheek, but keep watching, it wouldn't surprise anyone). It's just what happens in a one party State.

AB2466 stems from California's criminal justice realignment, which led to some people convicted of low-level felonies serving time in county jails.

Republican lawmakers say felons should not be allowed to cast ballots while serving a sentence, with Sen. Patricia Bates of Laguna Niguel saying it compromises the integrity of elections.

Democratic Assemblywoman Shirley Weber of San Diego says opponents don't want to allow certain people to vote. She says civic participation can be a critical part of reducing recidivism. http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2016/09/28/gov-brown-signs-bill-allowing-felons-to-vote-in-jail/
