Why would a billionaire even want to be President? All the responsibility, people on the other side politically hate you, secret service agents accompany you to the bathroom and beyond. I wouldn't want it. But Oprah apparently does.
Oprah Winfrey may end up running for U.S. President, both inspired by and to challenge President Donald Trump. Her affirmative response to the question of would she run, is a reversal for Winfrey, who in 2015 told "CBS This Morning" she would not run for president "in this lifetime."
The media mogul said during an interview on "The David Rubenstein Show: Peer-to-Peer Conversations" that she never previously considered the possibility of running for president since she felt she didn't have the experience. But, after Trump won the election, she isn't ruling out an eventual bid.
"I thought, 'Oh gee I don't have the experience," Winfrey said. "I don't know enough. And now I'm thinking, 'Oh? Oh!'"
Oprah Gail Winfrey,62, is an American media proprietor, talk show host, actress, producer, and philanthropist.
She is best known for her talk show The Oprah Winfrey Show, which was the highest-rated television program of its kind in history and was nationally syndicated from 1986 to 2011.
Dubbed the "Queen of All Media", she has been ranked the richest African-American, the greatest black philanthropist in American history, and is currently North America's first and only multi-billionaire black person. Several assessments rank her as the most influential woman in the world. In 2013, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama and honorary doctorate degrees from Duke and Harvard.
