Bollywood Dance Party 2017 Will Benefit Santa Monica Homeless

Family-friendly dance festival benefits local and international charitable activities

MA Center LA is holding its second Bollywood Dance Party fundraiser on Saturday, April 8, 2017, from 7 pm until midnight, at its facility located at 128 S. Catalina Avenue in Redondo Beach, California. Proceeds from the event will benefit multiple MA Center LA charitable initiatives, including Mother's Kitchen, which offers free vegetarian meals to 1,100 homeless or needy individuals every month in Santa Monica and at the Downtown Women's Center, and free mindful meditation classes for the public as well as veterans with PTSD.

This year's Bollywood Dance Party, featuring its signature Bollywood-inspired live DJ mixes, festive dancing, and vibrant entertainment, will return to MA Center LA, an award-winning, fully renovated historical building located close to the beach. Celebrated DJs Dynamite Sol and Shobanon will fill the evening with an entrancing blend of eastern and western dance rhythms. The evening's festivities will also include a live Bollywood dance class led by world-renowned Bollywood choreographer Yogen Bhagat, as well as a dance performance by Yogen and his dancers. Trained in Bollywood, Yogen has worked with many A-list Bollywood celebrities and has appeared on The Tonight Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and the Hollywood Bowl.

"This exciting community event is not only fun for the whole family; it provides support to Embracing the World's local and international charities," said Harishree, one of the event coordinators. "The proceeds from this event will also help support Embracing the World's Self Reliant Villages project, Amrita Serve, which was started to usher in sustainable development to village clusters all over India in the areas of health, education, water and sanitation, agriculture, eco-friendly infrastructure, income generation, and self and women's empowerment. It's a remarkable program we're thrilled to support."

In addition to dancing, Bollywood Dance Party 2017 features a variety of fun and family-friendly activities.

Participants can shop at the event's festive India-themed boutique, get henna tattoos, and a glamorous Bollywood photo booth will be available. Delicious Indian street food and traditional Indian chai will be offered for sale. Admission is $25 per person advance, $30 at the door, and $15 for students with ID and seniors 65+. Children 12 and under are free. For Bollywood Dance Party news and updates, visit our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/BollywoodDanceLA.
