3.5 Magnitude Earthquake shakes Frazier Park Near Tejon Pass

Small shaker causes no injuries or serious damage as of yet

An earthquake struck Frazier Park in Southern California's Tejon Pass at about 9:15 pm Monday evening. The temblor, which lasted for 5 to 10 seconds, caused pictures to fall off walls and broke a few dishes, but caused no visible damages to buildings and no injuries.

Seismologist Lucy Jones of Cal Tech says that an earthquake greater than 3.0 in magnitude strikes California every week, but usually the epicenter is in an unpopulated area.

Frazier Park is an unincorporated community in Kern County, California. It is 5 miles west of Lebec,[3] at an elevation of 4,639 feet. It is one of the Mountain Communities of the Tejon Pass. The population was 2,691 in the 2010 census, up from 2,348 in 2000.
