SMPD: a British Woman in her 30's Tried to Abduct a Student from Roosevelt Elementary School

Police appeal for public's assistance in finding a female suspect with a British or Australian Accent

It's a rather odd story which makes us think they're not telling us everything. But then again, when do they.

The Santa Monica Police Department is seeking additional information or witnesses regarding an incident that occurred on August 23, 2018 at Roosevelt Elementary School located at 801 Montana Ave.

On August 23, 2018 between 1:15-1:30 PM, a Roosevelt elementary student was waiting to be picked up by his mother near the 9th Street gate of the school. A female in her early 30's approached the student and attempted to coax him into leaving with her. The student thought this was suspicious since he did not know the woman. The student watched closely as the female walked directly to a black SUV, which was parked against the curb on 9th street. She was last seen driving southbound 9th Street.

The student described the suspect as a possibly a white female, 5'00"-5'04", short black/brown hair (in a ponytail), darker tone skin, wearing a pink button-down long sleeve shirt, white skirt, brown beaded necklace, and having a British or Australian accent. The student described the suspect's vehicle as a black SUV, tinted windows, and had an emblem with four interlocking rings on the rear of the vehicle. This description most likely describes an Audi SUV.
