4th Annual Flair Cares Food Drive February 11 to 28, Benefiting Westside Food Bank

Flair Cleaners will match customer donations up to 1,000 pounds of food at each of its locations.

SANTA MONICA, 2/4/19 – Flair Cleaners, Southern California's leading eco-friendly dry cleaners, will host its fourth annual Flair Cares Food Drive - Hang Up Hunger - February 11 to 28. The drive benefits local food pantries that are facing a significantly higher demand due to recent fires and the government shutdown. Flair will make a matching contribution of up to 1,000 pounds of food donated by customers at each of its locations. In appreciation for their support, every customer who donates will receive a coupon for 50% off dry cleaning on a future visit.

"2019 has been a challenging year for our local communities and food banks. Many of our neighbors are facing challenges they never expected, and they need our help," said Gary Futterman, owner of Flair Cleaners. "As a family-owned business, we know how important it is to help our neighbors and we are committed to doing all we can to make a difference."

Flair customers and community members may bring unopened, non-perishable commercially prepared, canned or boxed food to Flair Cleaners in Santa Monica, 720 Montana Avenue

between 7th and Lincoln. Food items that have passed their expiration dates or items in glass jars cannot be accepted. For a complete list of recommended food items, visit Flair Cleaners' Facebook page.

Donations will be delivered by Flair Cleaners to the Westside Food Bank, an independent nonprofit corporation that provides food, which enables low-income people to stay in their homes, deterring the problem of homelessness, and saving them from making the agonizing choice between paying for rent or food when they can't afford both.
