Accident just south of California Incline caused a 200 foot Geyser to appear above Palisades Park

Pacific coast highway was closed in both directions in Santa Monica on Wednesday morning. Traffic accident just south of the California incline and caused a 200 foot Kaiser to appear above Palisades Park.

City of Santa Monica Crews secured the water leak at 6:38 AM. The 10 freeway remained closed at 4th Street, and PCH remained closed southbound at the California incline. Traffic was backed up for miles in both directions into Santa Monica.

News helicopters awoke residents before 5 am, reporting on the geyser which towered above Palisades Park. A handful of early morning joggers took selfies of the incident, posting them on Instagram and other social media.

Just after 8 am, the City of Santa Monica traffic department sent out the following notice: The City of Santa Monica is completing clean up on Pacific Coast Highway. The southbound lanes of PCH have been opened. The northbound lanes are still closed until further notice. Please continue to use alternative routes for northbound Pacific Coast Highway.
