Firemen Extinguish Fire at 2634 6th Street, Santa Monica

On Thursday January 2nd, 2020 at 2:09 p.m. Public Safety Communications received a 9-1-1 call reporting a fire in a home at 2634 6th Street in the Ocean Park community of Santa Monica. Santa Monica Firefighters arrived in approximately 7 minutes to find the 2-story home with fire showing from the windows of the first floor. Firefighters mounted an aggressive attack on the blaze while quickly searching the entire structure to ensure no occupants were trapped inside.

A total of 31 Firefighters worked to control the fire, which was extinguished in 17 minutes and confined to the first floor. There was significant damage throughout the home which was deemed uninhabitable. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries to occupants or first responders. The SMFD was assisted by the Santa Monica Police Department and McCormick Ambulance service. Fire Investigators are still investigating the cause of the fire.
