Cayton Children's Museum Offering Free Outdoor Creative Arts Programming for the Whole Family at Santa Monica Place Beginning August 26

Programming will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in front of the museum on Level 3

Cayton Children's Museum at Santa Monica Place is bringing the museum outdoors with "Cayton Creators" Outdoor Community Program. Cayton Creators is a "mobile museum" experience created by the Cayton Children's Museum that offers communities access to the creative arts and values-based learning during the pandemic, and beyond. Activities are designed around social distancing and will be focused on bringing the organization's social impact vision to life through visual art, performance art, communal artmaking and play for kids up to age 10 and their families. This program is free to the general public and advance online registration will be required.

Starting in the Fall, the Cayton plans to expand the program across greater Los Angeles through partnerships with local non-profits and community-based organizations. The museum will work with partners to produce free pop-up programs in outdoor spaces with a goal of reducing the impact that social and academic disruption has had on children and youth in low-income communities. Organizations interested in partnering with the museum to bring Cayton Creators to their local community should email Senior Director of Programs, Jami Johnson, at outreach@caytonmuseum.org.

About Cayton Children's Museum

The Cayton Children's Museum is imagined and operated by ShareWell, a non-profit organization on a mission to guide children, youth and families to work together toward justice and expanded possibilities in their communities and beyond through experiential learning and the creative arts. For more than 30 years, ShareWell has nurtured young people to become responsible community members with the ability to positively shape the world.
