Magnitude 4.6 Temblor Strikes at 11:37 pm Friday. Earthquake Epicenter 2 Miles Southwest of El Monte, California

The temblor was felt in Marina del Rey, Long Beach and the San Gabriel Valley to the East of downtown Los Angeles

Residents of the westside were awakened 25 minutes before midnight Friday night, by a sharp temblor. Caltech's seismology lab said it measured 4.6 on the logarythmic Richter scale, making it one of the sharpest jolts of the last 20 years. People jumped out of bed, but no injuries or damage was reported.

The earthquake was felt in Marina del Rey, Long Beach and the San Gabriel Valley to the East of downtown Los Angeles. Residents naturally wondered if it was a foreshock of something bigger, in this unusual year that is 2020.
