"Hold" called 30 seconds before launch of SpaceX Falcon 9 carrying SiriusXM Satellite number 7 Friday at 12:12 pm EST

Satellite will deliver broadcast services to North America, and is the 5th active satellite for SiriusXM

Update: Thirty seconds before launch, a hold was called on the launch of a Sirius XM Satellite from Cape Canaveral, Florida."The purpose of the countdown is for us to detect errors or problems," said Kate Tice, a spokeswoman for SpaceX. "If the team sees anything that looks just slightly off, the team will call off the launch. That is what happened today," Tice said.

SpaceX Company of Torrance is now set to launch a broadcast satellite into orbit Saturday December 12, just afternoon Florida time. The weather is good and the satellite is operating normally and on time, said Tice.

"The two stage rocket is 70 meters tall, and sits on launch pad 40. It is the 7th flight for this particular first stage rocket, and the 29th SpaceX launch this year. If we stick the landing, it will mark the 29th safe recovery for us."she said.

Satellite will deliver broadcast services to North America, and is the 5th active satellite for SiriusXM.

The fuel is refined Kerosene. The second stage is fully loaded with RP1, and liquid oxygen is being loaded to burn both the first and second stages. During flight we pass the helium through expanders, used to fill the empty volume in the tanks as consumed."
