11.13.21 Santa Monica police have confirmed that a pedestrian died after a hit and run accident on 10th street and Pico Blvd in Santa Monica. The unnamed man was in an unmarked intersection at 10th street Saturday evening, when he was struck by a vehicle and killed.

Pico Blvd East of Lincoln had been paved this weekend. However it was uncertain that this was a factor in the accident. "The suspect vehicle is possibly a white Dodge Challenger (or similar) with red racing stripes over the hood. The vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound on Pico Blvd after the collision," the SMPD said.

Police Department Traffic Investigators are attempting to identify the driver and vehicle involved in a Felony Hit and Run incident that occurred in Santa Monica on October 31, 2021 at approximately 12:57 am. A woman was hit in the intersection of 3rd Street and Wilshire Blvd early Halloween morning. She was hospitalized afterward, and is now "resting comfortably at home."

The press release from the SMPD from Lt. Rudy Flores reads: The Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) responded to a fatal Hit & Run traffic collision at 10th and Pico Bl on Saturday, November 13th at approximately 8:05 PM.

SMPD’s Major Accident Response Team (MART) responded to investigate and learned that a male pedestrian was crossing the street when he was struck by a vehicle which immediately fled the scene. A second vehicle hit the victim when he was down on the roadway. That vehicle stopped to assist, and the driver has cooperated with investigators. The unidentified male victim believed to be in his 50’s, was pronounced on scene by Santa Monica Fire personnel.

The suspect vehicle is possibly a white Dodge Challenger (or similar) with red racing stripes over the hood. The vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound on Pico Blvd after the collision.
