30% of UCLA Students Living in Campus Dorms, Said to be In Isolation Due to Covid-19

Is it really just a trick to avoid final exams? Our source thinks so! But why is the administration playing along with it? Money, of course.

About 30% of UCLA students living in the towering on campus dormitories are in isolation rooms due to Covid. "Many of these people actually do not have Covid, or Covid symptoms," our source told us. "Their motivation is avoiding finals. You say you've been exposed to Coronavirus, they take your word for it. You get to isolate and stay home from finals," she said.

About 12,000 students live in UCLA's undergraduate dorms. UCLA has 30,000 undergraduate students, making it one of the largest universities in the United States.

"As of January 2022, all students are required to test weekly," reads UCLA's student housing website. "They can pick up a test at any residential hall front desk or on-campus vending machine. "

Download from UCLA Housing site.

"If a student tests positive for COVID-19 the Ashe Exposure Management Team will contact both the student and the Housing Isolation and Quarantine Team. Students who test positive will be moved to an isolation room. The Housing IQ Team will confirm the isolation room to the student and provide them additional resources."

"Students in isolation should expect to be there a minimum of 10 days. We encourage students to have a small bag packed with clothing and any other necessities, to be ready to take to an isolation room." https://portal.housing.ucla.edu/covid-19-protocols-and-expectations

So this is isolation, not self isolation. Why is the administration playing along with it? Well, the students did test positive, even though they're asymptomatic or have mild covid in most cases. Maybe it's to access the Federal funds for taking care of Covid patients.
