Fully Boosted Are Catching Covid-19 More Frequently than Those with Primary Vaccine Series Only, Both in Los Angeles County and the Nation

Individuals who are up to date with their Covid-19 booster shots are becoming infected with the virus at nearly twice the rate as those who have received a primary series only

June 23, 2022 - Both the Centers for Disease Control and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health are revealing that individuals who are up to date with their Covid-19 booster shots are becoming infected with the virus at nearly twice the rate as the merely vaccinated.

The unexpected reversal of the vaccine's effect is more pronounced in some age groups than others, according to data from the LADPH.

On June 19, CBS news showed a case rate chart from the CDC that showed the simply vaccinated were catching Covid-19 at a rate of 56.44 compared to the fully boosted, who were catching the disease at a rate of 119.4. The unvaccinated, meanwhile were being infected at a rate of 188.20. The news station did not explain what was the denominator or numerator of these "rates."

But the trend is confirmed by data released on a new website put up by the county health department. The only age group for whom fully boosting appears to prevent infection more than simply receiving a primary series of the Covid-19 vaccine are those aged 12-17. Even in this group, the difference between the two is minimal. For the fully boosted, the rate of infection is 1522 per 100k over 30 days. For those simply vaccinated, it is 1459.2, a difference of only about 5%.

Meanwhile, for those aged 18 to 49, the rate of infection for the fully boosted is about twice that of the simply vaccinated. For those age 50-64, the rate of infection for the fully boosted is about 40% higher than for the simply vaccinated. For those over age 65, the rate of infection for the fully boosted is about 25% higher than for the simply vaccinated.

Regarding death rates, the county health department does not distinguish between the simply vaccinated and the fully boosted. The implication is that there is not enough of a difference between the two to make the distinction.

Approximately twenty percent of today's Department of Public Health media briefing was devoted to encouraging the public to get booster shots.

The fact that they're still pushing boosters means that the goal has nothing to do with public safety and more to do with making money.

You won’t hear my story on mainstream media. I am 74 y/o, unvaxxed, and tested positive last January - my symptoms never went beyond a mild, scratchy throat. Last week, I shared a hotel room for 8 days, vacationing with my unvaxx’d sister who home-tested positive the day before the start of our vacation. Her symptoms were mild and she decided to go regardless, completing her “quarantine” at the hotel. Today is day 5 and my home-test results remain negative. My 72 y/o sister is still home-testing positive but she feels better than 95% with no after effects. Hurray for natural immunity!
