Downtown Santa Monica, Inc. Kicks Off Spring with Lineup of Free Events on Third Street Promenade

Events include the return of the 626 Night Market Mini food festival, Conscious Markets and Silent Disco dance parties.

Downtown Santa Monica, Inc. (DTSM, Inc.) has announced three event series coming to Downtown Santa Monica this spring. Following the success of its initial launch in 2022, the 626 Night Market Mini Series returns to Santa Monica, bringing the iconic Southern California food festival to the city on a smaller scale monthly beginning in March and running through May 2023 on select Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 10 p.m. The markets bring together some of Southern California's most unique eats, featuring approximately three dozen food, merch and craft vendors. An alcohol garden will be available for attendees 21 years and older. The market is open to all ages and free to attend with advanced ticket reservations.

Spring programming at the Promenade continues with the Conscious Market on Saturdays, March 4, April 1 and May 6, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Hosted in partnership with Fit Girl Club LA, the markets feature a collection of elevated brands and sustainable products from over 40 local businesses with a zero waste and self-care focus. Local fitness studios will offer free fitness classes. Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat, towel and water for maximum enjoyment. Complimentary healthy drinks and snacks will be available for sampling.

Grab your dancing shoes and dance like no one is watching during free Silent Disco Fridays on Fridays, March 10, April 14 and May 12 from 6 to 9 p.m. Get your groove on to one of three live DJ sets with a personal light-up headset and unlimited dancing at this outdoor party. 626 Night Market is inspired by Asia's famous open-air nighttime bazaars, where people come together to eat, drink, socialize, and be entertained. Established in 2012, the large-scale market is named after the 626 area code region of San Gabriel Valley, northeast of Los Angeles. The iconic Californian festival features 250+ food, merchandise, crafts, artists, games, live concerts, and entertainment attractions in an epic event that appeals to all ages with up to 100,000 attendees per 3-day weekend. The flagship event is held at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia. Two additional event locations were added to meet popular demand: OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa in 2014 and Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton in 2018. 626 Night Market aims to unite and empower the community by serving as a platform for showcasing local talent including performers, chefs, and entrepreneurs.
