SMFD Rescues Girl Drowning North of SM Pier

Paramedics work with LA County Fire to transport juvenile in critical condition

3/26: Today, at approximately 12:47 PM, Santa Monica Fire Department Paramedics, were called to the Santa Monica Beach, north of the pier, for a possible drowning. On scene, Santa Monica Firefighters worked with Los Angeles County Fire Department Life Guards to rescue one juvenile, who was transported to Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center in critical condition.

Ultimately, numerous Life Guard Swimmers, 1 Life Guard boat, 1 County Fire Department Helicopter, Santa Monica Police, and Santa Monica Firefighters worked together to locate the victim and get medical attention.

Santa Monica Beaches and the Pier Received an influx of visitors due to warm temperatures, and the Easter Holiday weekend. Water temperatures however, still remain low.
