Flower Child's First California Location Now Open

Restaurateur Sam Fox introduces healthy fast-casual restaurant to Santa Monica

 

At 2nd and Santa Monica Blvd., the new restaurant offers conveniently nutritious food in a setting reminiscent of a modern bohemian abode. The Flower Child menu is masterfully designed to offer a healthy and balanced dining experience with a selection of organic, gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan items for lunch, dinner, and breakfast seven days a week. Kombucha and a selection of local beers are available on tap.

SANTA MONICA (June 14, 2016) – Today, Flower Child – the healthy, happy, fast-casual restaurant by Sam Fox– has opened its doors in Santa Monica. Inspired by the fundamental desire to deliver healthy food for a happy world, the new restaurant offers conveniently nutritious food in a setting reminiscent of a modern bohemian abode. Flower Child is the third restaurant brand by restaurateur Sam Fox to open in California, joining the wildly successful True Food Kitchen and North Italia restaurants.

As the first location in California, Flower Child Santa Monica occupies a 5,000-square-foot space on 2nd Street and Santa Monica Blvd., just steps away from many of the city's leading health and wellness destinations, the new Expo Line, and popular Third Street Promenade. A buzzy open kitchen exudes energy through the space, where guests can watch as chefs swiftly prepare their order. Additionally, serving guests who are on-the-go there is a dedicated area designed to pick up a quick, fresh meal.

The Flower Child menu is masterfully designed to offer a healthy and balanced dining experience with a selection of organic, gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan items for lunch, dinner, and breakfast seven days a week. Much of the menu is mix-and-match style, allowing guests to select their favorite combination of seasonal vegetables, fruits, and grains such as Spicy Japanese Eggplant (with Thai basil and cashew) and Heirloom Tomatoes & Watermelon (with olive oil, saba, basil, mint) as well as optional proteins like Grass-Fed Steak and Organic Non-GMO Tofu.

Guests will find a variety of salads like the Summer Vegan (with asparagus, avocado, roasted corn, cauliflower, baby tomato, sun-dried olive, sunflower seed, lemon tahini vinaigrette); bowls like the Mother Earth (with ancient grains, sweet potato, portobello mushroom, avocado, cucumber, broccoli pesto, leafy greens, red pepper miso vinaigrette, hemp seed); whole grain pita wraps baked in-house daily like the Flying Avocado (with smoked turkey, gouda, romaine, tomato, avocado hummus); gluten-free desserts; and an ever changing iced tea and lemonade station where seasonal flavors rotate. Breakfast will also be served daily starting at 8 a.m., including items such as a Quinoa Breakfast Burrito, Vegan Hash, and Spiced Maple Porridge. Along with morning beverages like the Liquid Sunshine (coconut water, carrot, orange, ginger, turmeric), organic coffee, and fresh squeezed citrus juice.
