Put on your Halloween Costume and Come See the Squid at the SM Pier Aquarium

Santa Monica Heal The Bay Aquarium Halloween Event

Get into the spirit of the season at Heal the Bay's Santa Monica Pier Aquarium with a "fintastic" Halloween and Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration.

The Aquarium, located at the beach level of the Santa Monica Pier, has spooky, family-friendly activities planned both days.

Visit the glow-in-the-dark deep-sea laboratory, tip toe (if you dare!) through the marine animal artifact lab and create colorful Dia de los Muertos crafts and masks. Face painting and spooky story times are scheduled throughout the weekend as well. Come in costume or choose from a variety of gently used goblin garb* available at the Aquarium. All ghosts and goblins are invited to join a 3 p.m. parade on Sunday (October 29). Stepping off in front of the Aquarium, the spooky procession will make its way along the Pier to trick-or-treat from Pier businesses.

Schedule of events:

• Saturday, Oct 28 @ 2pm:  Spooky Story Time

• Sunday, Oct 29 @ 3pm:  Santa Monica Pier Costume Parade and Trick-or-Treat

• Sunday, Oct 29 @ 3:30pm:  Sunday Shark Feeding Presentation

*Costumes are generously donated by the Santa Monica Resource Recovery & Recycling Division. They will host their annual Halloween Costume Swap on Saturday, October 7 at the Pico Branch Library Annex (2201 Pico Blvd).
