With student loan and credit card debt rising to record highs and a report from Standard & Poor's finding U.S. ranks an uninspiring 14th in overall financial literacy, the platform comes at a time when Americans need financial literacy more than ever.
The need for financial literacy never being higher, OneWest Bank has just unveiled a free education platform to help Americans build their financial confidence.
The bank's "Personal Finance Empowered" platform offers information and training for financial decisions that consumers of all ages face every day. The online platform's content is organized into modules that focus on more than 30 different topic areas including paying for college, mortgage education, fraud awareness, retirement planning and many more. Users can also access customized "playlists" of content that best address the issues/goals they specifically face. Content is available in English and Spanish.
The platform is completely free for anyone to access and does not require any login or personal information to be entered. In addition to this content, OneWest plans to offer workshops based on this curriculum throughout its network of branches across Southern California.
