Santa Monica College Closed Due to Getty Fire Air Quality Conditions
As a Mandatory evacuation expanded all the way to Temescal Canyon road, affecting the Pacific Palisades and Brentwood, some schools closed but others were open. UCLA finally decided to cancel classes due to the #gettyfire. So SMC, Mt. St. Mary's School, and Santa Monica College closed. All Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District Schools were closed.

All Santa Monica and Malibu schools closed today on October 28th.

Santa Monica College Closed Due to Getty Fire Air Quality Conditions
Santa Monica College (SMC) will be closed today, Monday, October 28, because of the dynamic conditions of the Getty Fire, worsening air quality, and projected shift in wind conditions. SMC will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates to college employees, students, and stakeholders as we learn more via college email, the official Twitter account @SMC_edu, and the college website: smc.edu.
The Los Angeles Unified School District announced the closure of 18 schools affected by the fire.
