Santa Monica resident, Shayne Grey, known professionally as "Starving Darling" launched her first EP at Harvelle's in downtown Santa Monica on November 19th. Shayne and her drummer, David Horn, performed her original "indie rock" songs to a packed room Tuesday night of friends, family and local regulars who cheered and applauded her performance. Shayne is regularly featured at Harvelle's on Singer/Songwriter night on Tuesdays and has also played The Silverlake Lounge, Molly Malones, and The Mint.

Shayne was born on the autism spectrum and has pursued her music career with great passion. Her heartfelt lyrics and melodies convey a connection between emotion and sound.

Her music offers a contemporary spin on alternative rock music and she also writes poetry, short stories, and music reviews for music blogs and magazines.

Her mother, Susan Justin, classical pianist, composer, and music teacher and her father, Allan Holzman, two-time Emmy and Peabody award winning filmmaker, have nurtured her creative talent and supported her career from a very young age. Shayne is a student at Jazz Hands For Autism, a Los Angeles based nonprofit and talent advocacy group that provides musicians on the autism spectrum with the resources and training needed to succeed in music-related jobs.
