When President Barack Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009, he famously said, "I'm truly honored. But I haven't done anything yet."

You probably won't hear about it at all on American mainstream media, but US President Donald J. Trump has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Norwegian Parliament member Christian Tybring-Gjedde nominated the president, citing efforts to resolve world conflict. He said: "Trump has broken a 39-year-old streak of American Presidents either starting a war or bringing the United States an international armed conflict."

“For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees,” Tybring-Gjedde, a four-term member of Parliament who also serves as chairman of the Norwegian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, told Fox News in an exclusive interview."

He also cited the President's work in bringing about a peace treaty between the United Arab Emirates and Israel, the only peace agreement between Israel and an Arab country in the 21st Century.
