Schools Are Reopened in California State Prisons

With drug treatment, vocation and education now open, inmates are earning their time off of their sentences by participating in such programs.

If you want your kids back in school, send them to prison! Last week, female and transgender male state prisoners here @ C.I.W. went back school to receive in-person educational instruction! No, California Teachers Union stopping prisoners from getting our much needed learning!! So, if this can happen here, maybe Gavin Newsom should ask the CDCR how to open the schools?

This phase 2 is allowing many things to open up inside here. Vocational training also! You see, the State Prisons get paid for butts in classroom seats. Yes, at one point, we did use paperwork to distance learn. But, as of last week, the school is operating normally. Most of the prison has had or been offered their first shots. I'm not going to take the 2nd shot. One shot of a vaccine that I don't trust is enough for me. However, 2nd Moderna vaccines are coming. I want a baby when I am released and I am not going to take chances that the vaccine will hurt my ability to carry a baby. I'm cautious for a reason. I want you to do what you feel is best for you.

All meals were still delivered to the units. However, less restricted movement. Now officers simply watch instead of directly escort inmates to their destinations.

With drug treatment, vocation and education now open, inmates are earning their time off of their sentences by participating in such programs. A win for everyone. The state gets paid and inmates receive skills, certification, and go home.

The prison canteeen supply deliveries have been out of whack. One again, basic items out of stock. Vendors having trouble meeting demand. We are at about half capacity.

We have a new warden. A female warden who came from a men's facility. I'll be telling you about her next time. She's a doozy! If it's not one thing, it's surely another...
