"What would it take to make you go away?" she asked. Story could have broad implications for the California Governor's recall election
Politics makes strange bedfellows. Rose McGowan just got into bed, politically speaking, with Larry Elder. This afternoon, the Me Too movement founder will hold a press conference with Larry Elder, where she will say that she was approached by Jennifer Siebold Newsom 6 months before McGowan released her allegations against Harvey Weinstein, and asked to be silent. Weinstein is now known as the biggest serial rapist in Hollywood History.

"So this woman, I don't know, some blonde lady name with the last name of the Newsom, cold-calls me, and was like, David Boies wants to know what it would take to make you happy,'" McGowan told Dave Rubin on the Rubin Report YouTube show. Boies was then Weinstein's attorney.
Elder said that he does not know if McGowan's allegations are true, but he told Fox LA that McGowan "has produced emails that were sent to her from Gavin Newsom's wife."
The two (McGowan and Elder) will hold a joint press conference this afternoon. "Election Day" on the recall election is September 14th, this Tuesday. Many Californians have already voted, but many still have their mail in ballots.
There can be little doubt that McGowan, a lifelong political progressive, didn't want to support Elder before the election. But she must have felt compelled to do so, in the elections closing days. Perhaps she will explain why Sunday afternoon.
One thing is for sure: the mainstream media, especially the LA Times, will ignore the story completely, until after Tuesday, when Gavin Newsom is expected to bury Elder at the ballot.
"It's a double standard." Tweeted Larry Elder. "I don't know if it's true...but if that allegation was made about my significant other...it would be all over the place....the mainstream media doesn't give a damn."

Actress Rose McGowan will appear alongside Republican California gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder to address the media Sunday afternoon, two days before the state's recall election in which Elder is trying to unseat Gov. Gavin Newsom.
McGowan claims that six months before she came forward with sexual assault allegations against Harvey Weinstein, Newsom's wife Jennifer Siebel Newsom reached out to her relaying a message from Weinstein's attorney David Boies.
"So this woman, I don't know, some blonde lady name with the last name of the Newsom, cold-calls me, and was like, David Boies wants to know what it would take to make you happy,'" McGowan told Dave Rubin on the Rubin Report YouTube show.
Elder said that he does not know if McGowan's allegations are true, but he told Fox LA that McGowan "has produced emails that were sent to her from Gavin Newsom's wife."
