Drivers are advised to avoid low lying areas.

A wind advisory is in effect for coastal areas of Los Angeles County. The area is from Pt. Mugu to Pt. San Mateo, and west to the Anacapa Islands. Mariners are advised to avoid going to sea today, anywhere in the Santa Monica Bat.

On land, drivers are noticing that their vehicles of any size are shaking in the wind. A rainstorm is dropping from one to five inches of rain on LA County today, depending on one's specific location.

The National Weather Service reports: "The steady rain is moving to the east of Los Angeles County, as we transition into more off and on again showers for the rest of the day. Some showers could produce heavy rain, gusty winds, and lightning. Be extra careful on the roads. #cawx #larain"
