Artwork From Tragedy of Russia Ukraine War: Turning Hell Into Beauty

Iconography of the Russia Ukraine War

Some first rate artwork is emerging from the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022. ""Eastern Orthodox more than Roman Catholics, believe (images, paintings of fallen innocents) qualify as icons, in that they (are) visible images depicting heavenly beings and, in the case of the cherubim, used to indirectly indicate God's presence above the Ark (of the Covenant)" tweeted Koolynx Valtitude.

"You probably know that this woman in the photo and her unborn child died after the Russians fired on a maternity hospital in Mariupol. Now the icons look like this". Oleksandra Maviicvhuk, Head of the Ukraine Center for human rights, on Twitter. "Almost every second one Ukrainian child becomes a refugee - UNICEF stated. Since the beginning of the war on February 24, about 1.5 million children have left Ukraine."

As Russian bombs drop, Ukrainians unite to protect precious artworks. "There is an egomaniac in Moscow who doesn't care about killing children, let alone destroying art," said Ihor Kozhan, the director of the grand gallery opposite Lviv's opera house.
