Slate of 4 Announced for Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District (SMMUSD) Board Election

"A Brighter Future (ABF) PAC was founded by a non-partisan group of Santa Monica and Malibu parents ......" They support - Angela DiGaetano, Esther Hickman, Stacy Rouse, Miles Warner

A Brighter Future (ABF), a newly formed PAC, endorses four experienced parent leaders for the SMMUSD School Board election on November 8, 2022:

- Angela DiGaetano- Esther Hickman- Stacy Rouse- Miles Warner

The ABF candidates bring experience in school governance and knowledge of SMMUSD from the perspective of both current parents and alumni. Once elected to the school board they will:

- Prioritize education, students and teachers;

- Exercise fiscal competency to spend our tax dollars where they are most needed;

- Lead with transparency and accountability; and

- Equitably allocate resources among all our neighborhood schools and students.

Santa Monica has been dominated by an entrenched political establishment for over 40 years. At a critical time in our children's education, the current school board's lack of focus on academic outcomes and student well-being is negatively impacting the future of our students and schools. The incumbents have proven themselves unable to competently lead and operate during a crisis, which has led to a mass exodus of families and teachers from the district. To ensure a Brighter Future for SMMUSD we must elect new leadership to the school board. Vote for DiGaetano, Warner, Hickman and Rouse. Together we can rebuild our district to an exemplary status.

A Brighter Future (ABF) PAC was founded by a non-partisan group of Santa Monica and Malibu parents to address the leadership crisis our public schools are facing. We invite all parents and residents who want to restore the promise of public education to join ABF in bringing needed change to the SMMUSD School Board.
