"There is a very loud sports car speeding up and down the streets near Grant Elementary School (Pearl and 27th) tonight at 9:30 pm. Gunning the engine in a very obnoxious way, waking up the dogs etc. They went up and down 26th Street several times." reads a post from the Citizen App

"I heard like 8 cop cars speeding by in the last 20 minutes. Maybe it is a chase" replied another.

In an unrelated incident, a resident died in one of the units at Pico Lanai apartments, writes Lt. Rudy Flores of the SMPD. "Appears to be natural. No signs of foul play. Small fire in the kitchen not related to the death," he wrote. One SMFD engine company and a McCormick ambulance responded to the small fire.
