Burst Fire Hyrdrant Floods a CVS Pharmacy at 2602 Santa Monica Blvd
A burst fire hydrant or water main at 2602 Santa Monica Blvd flooded the CVS Pharmacy at 26th and SM Blvd on Monday night. Both a broken water main and sparking electrical box were reported at that intersection.
The large parking lot at 26th and Santa Monica Blvd was flooded. Starbucks workers were forced to lock the door to keep out the water.
The Santa Monica Fire Dept. secured the fire hydrant by 6 pm, about 2 hours after the accident that caused it.
