The SMFD Hazmat team was called to 2701 Olympic Tuesday night at about 10 pm PST. The nature of the hazardous material is unknown. Both the Fire Dept. and Santa Monica Police were present. The staging area or command post was reportedly at 26th and Pennsylvania.
It was not immediately clear what sort of hazmat incident was involved. "Holding Batt 1, Engine 5 & hazmat 5, and McCormick; It’s a unified command between PD and Fire."
