LAPD Keeps Pro Hamas Protestors Away From Beverly Center in Protest at 3d and La Cienega.

"The protestors took over the intersection of 3rd St and La Cienega Blvd. LAPD declared this takeover unlawful"

12.23.23: According to a tweet from the Los Angeles Police Department, propalestine protestors were deflected from the Beverly Center and confined to the intersection of Third Street and La Cienega Saturday evening.

In contrast to Palestine demonstrations over a month ago which drew thousands of people, recent LA Hamas marches have drawn fewer than 1000. This one drew 425. The statement form the LAPD reads:

Earlier this evening approximately 425 protesters who began in Beverly Hills marched towards the Beverly Center at the height of holiday shopping. Los Angeles police officers were prepared and prevented the group from entering the crowded shopping center.

The protestors took over the intersection of 3rd St and La Cienega Blvd. LAPD declared this takeover unlawful. The group was given a dispersal order and peacefully complied.

Holiday activities and traffic at 3rd St and La Cienega Bl are no longer impacted. The Los Angeles Police Department will always be ready to facilitate First Amendment speech, however unlawful activity will not be tolerated. We are pleased this event came to a peaceful conclusion, and wish all Angelenos a wonderful holiday.
