PA will determine the next president. Cambria County has extended voting until Wednesday in response to the technical problem.
We are receiving report that one heavily Republican county in Western Pennsylvania, has experienced a near total breakdown in its polling machines. Pennsylvania is a swing state and it will most likely determine whether Kamala Harris or Donald Trump win the US Presidential election.
From Amy the Artist, who claims to live in Cambria County: "I'm in a deep red part of swing state Pennsylvania, and all the voting machines are broken across this county and the neighboring ones. People are stranded in line, and a constable told them they don't get the machines working by 10PM, they will turn people away. I'm not sure what to do."
Updated: Cambria County is extending the voting period. IMO it's not a coincidence that this is a problem in areas critical for Trump's support." Amy wrote.
"Western Pa voting machines are down here is an Interview with Ashley Miller at the Cambria County Richland precinct 6 and 5." tweeted Dave Lueiew, who also interviewed one poll worker: https://x.com/jamdalu/status/1853802123625898048
A poll worker said the County clerk was accepting paper ballots; that these would ultimately be counted. That the element not working was the reading machine. "The voting machines are just not scanning. They are currently working on the issue with the scantron. Once we get them working again we will scan the ballots by hand. The backup (of paper ballots) has been in place since we got the voting machines 5 years ago. You're going to drop your paper ballot in a ballot box and we will scan them in, instead of you scanning them in."
